Chris Cotton is a Photographer, Cinematographer, Musician and a stage manager, an enthusiast of life, a lover of all strange, beautiful and truthful things and people and always the student as well as a sharer of experiences…

Since his early childhood, he developed a great interest in all things technical. In his teens a still-developing love affair with music began, which took him on a journey of studying, participating in bands and music ensembles, meeting many famous and influential characters along the way, eventually leading to the decision to leave his home country, Greece, for an exciting adventure in the UK.

Little did he know that in Manchester, he would rediscover his appreciation of image and video, which along with his love of technical things would eventually lead him to pick up his first camera and take his first pictures…

From then on, it became clearer and clearer that his purpose is Photography and Video, which, in his own words “combine my biggest loves of art, harmony and creation with the element of the unknown, the internal and what is waiting there to be captured…”

Starting with self-experimentation and self-teaching, then moving on to college (Burnley College), he was encouraged by his tutor Kate Hope to enter higher education and apply for a university degree, which Chris never even have dreamt of being in a position to attempt…

A farfetched dream came true and Chris got accepted in Blackburn University for a BA (Hons) Degree in photography, where he is still attending, achieving high grades and really good feedback. Having an amazing insight to the world of Photography by some amazing people and tutors, like Richard Peregrine, Martyn Pearson and Sam Johnson, Chris is on a path to acquire invaluable knowledge and experience which he is already using in his professional but also artistic work.

Chris has developed a passion and an expertise in photographing performing artists such as musicians, stand up comedians, street artists etc, having worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.

He also has a great interest in product and fashion Photography while being genuinely intrigued by Wedding Photography as well, always trying to capture pictures that reflect a reality, a truth and an intimacy rarely seen in commercial wedding photography. Chris has some core experience in these fields and is always happy to discuss any size project on any location… In the meantime, he is truly and honestly open to all suggestions about Photoshoots that will challenge him and help him carry on with his journey…
